What part of someone’s day do you want to be?

We’ve all heard the phrase advising not to judge someone until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes.

Jonathan Novick, a 22-year-old man with Dwarfism helped us do just that by filming peoples’ reactions to him during a day in his life. By putting a camera in a button on his shirt, we experience an average day in Jonathan’s life living in New York City. From the subway, to the streets, to a restaurant, I can personally say that I’ve never experienced the reactions to him that Jonathan did just in that day. I imagine it must be exhausting to keep his head held high while he challenges others in this short video, “Don’t Look Down On Me.”

In the end, Jonathan challenges viewers:
“I’ll ask that the next time you see someone who is different than you, think about what their day might be like. Think about all of the events of their life leading up to that point and think about their day. And think about, what part of their day do you want to be?”
